Scope

This page applies to: (1) the website timeproofs.io, (2) the reference API at api.timeproofs.io, and (3) the ProofSpec protocol materials and portable proof bundles (e.g., .tproof.json).

What TimeProofs proves

• A specific hash existed at a specific timestamp (as issued/signed by the service).
• The proof can be verified later against the same hash without revealing the original content.

In stateless v0.2, verification is proof-file based (bundle required) — not a database lookup.

What TimeProofs does not prove

• Identity of an author or owner of a file/dataset.
• Copyright ownership, licensing rights, or transfer of rights.
• Delivery, reading, acceptance, intent, or consent.
• That the original content was lawful, accurate, or authentic.
• Any form of notarization or legal certification.

Acceptable use

• No unlawful use or infringement of third-party rights.
• No abuse, attacks, or scraping intended to degrade the service or bypass safeguards.
• Do not include personal data in optional metadata fields.

Intellectual property

• Protocol: ProofSpec is published as an open specification.
• Website content: text and visuals are provided for informational purposes.
• Source code: see the public repository for licensing and notices.

Availability

• Public Beta: features may change, and the service may be interrupted.
• No SLA is provided for v0.2.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. TimeProofs is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profits, or loss of data resulting from use of the service.
